Is our Tap Water Making Us Sick?

You can answer this question just about anyway you want, depending who you ask. If you ask the EPA or the Municipal Water Systems, they would answer no! Your Tap Water falls within the standard guidelines set up for Tap Water Regulation in the USA they would say. Last year alone 21% of all public water systems did not meet EPA Standards. That is nearly one forth. The major debates with tap water today are Arsenic, Lead & Copper levels in tap water. Well do I need to even list the side effects of these deadly toxins. If your home is 1980 or older you could be getting lead & copper from the lead joints & copper tubings. Arsenic levels are rising in groundwater from industrial waste by-products & leaking landfills. Arizona is considering treating the water at Point of Use which is a much more efficient method. The chlorine alone that is used to treat water can be 33% higher than in a swimming pool & still meet EPA Regulations. People drinking chlorinated water have a 93% higher cancer risk than people drinking water with no chlorine. THM'S produced from the chlorine gas used to treat water are also cancer causing & can cause birth defects. Tap water also contains nitrates, pesticide & herbicide chemicals. Many are cancer causing. Parasites, micro-organisms & bacteria can sometimes be found in tap water. Cryptospordium parvum can not be killed with chlorine alone. Bacterias are becoming stronger & more resistant to treatment. Treating our water is an essential step now, & treating at point of use seems like the only sensible answer.
